Affordable Housing Resources offers two options for a homebuyer education course. Each course holds the same curriculum, serving you all of the knowledge you’ll need to know about the home buying process. During class time, you will learn in depth about the entire home buying process, from the initial search to the satisfying finish.

The key points this course covers include:

  • How to shop for a home
  • How to shop for a lender
  • Shopping for a loan product
  • Choosing an insurance agent
  • Understanding the importance of good credit
  • How to develop a budget/spending plan
  • Home maintenance

The first class structure option is a one-day class. The minimum class time will be six hours but may be longer depending on information requested by attendees. All learning materials and lunch will be provided during this time. The cost of the Pre-purchase only class is $50 per household. If both pre and post-education are needed, the fee will be $100 per household.

The second class option offers the same criteria and hours, simply split up into two days. To fulfill the required education, both days of the class must be attended. Snacks will be provided over the two-day course and again all necessary materials will be given. The cost of this class is $50 per household.

No childcare is provided for attendees, we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. However, we do have an online class option where you’ll learn about all the same information without ever having to leave your computer!

Please note the fee is payable at the time of the class in the form of personal check, money order or exact cash. This payment covers materials, drinks and snacks.
